The Truth About Selling Digital Products: My Personal Experience….So Far

If you’re looking to start selling digital products, let me inform you of the truth; it’s a lot of work. I’ve been on X (FKA Twitter) and Instagram and I saw all these posts of people posting how much they make which sucks people into thinking that this business is easy. It’s not. Selling digital products takes time, skill, and knowledge. These social media posts can give you misleading ideas that you can earn thousands of dollar over night. You can’t. If people don’t know who you are and what you’re about, why on earth would they risk spending money with you? This is why it takes time. People need to get to know who you are and what you’re about. To do that, you need to demonstrate knowledge and build trust.

Yes, you can easily create digital products using ChatGPT but if you don’t go over the product it just created for you, it can end up being a piece of junk. You need to go over it with a fine tooth comb and do your research. Your product needs to make sense and it needs to contain facts. Blindly trusting ChatGPT to do all the work for you without reviewing it or going over it can cause big problems later on. Also, to build your brand and to create your own voice, you can’t always use ChatGPT. You have to put in the work to stand out from all the rest. This is how we can get to know you, trust in your knowledge and your brand.

They have digital products that are already done for you that you can buy and resell with Master Resell Rights (MRR). Even with these products, I highly recommend that you still find a way to get your voice and brand to stand out. Otherwise, you’ll be lost in the sea of repeaters. This doesn’t build a trustworthy business. I can’t honestly speak for other people but I can speak for myself. I would rather go with someone who is authentic and true to themselves and their brand. Again, this goes back to building trust with your customers. We need to see you, hear you, and trust you. I’m learning all of this as I’m still starting from scratch and learning how to build my own brand.

Finding your niche is how you can stand out. I wouldn’t recommend just going out and reselling eBooks that you don’t know anything about. Your customers can buy your product and turn around and reach out to you with all kinds of questions and if you can’t answer them, guess what, you’re busted! You’re just a repeater. What are you going to do? Send them to the person you bought the product from? Well, if this doesn’t convince you that selling digital products isn’t as easy as people are making it out to be, then I don’t know what will. You may just have to go out and try it yourself like I am. I am new to all of this and still learning which is why I am called The Digital Product Amateur.
